Well Hello There

I am so damn behind on all of your blogs...I promise to catch up today!!!

I've been so spastic and scattered (and other unfortunate 'S' words) since we got back from our Chicago trip, and this morning I got to thinking:  I need my routine now more than ever.  There's so much planning and preparation that goes into my days now, and I have to work harder than some people to keep my personal life from becoming chaotic, because I'm just naturally a messy, disorganized scatterbrain.  (At least at home...at work I am a tidy, organization-hungry, Microsoft Excel-loving, Type A neat freak.)  Anyway, our trip threw off my entire precious routine, and I'm just now getting my shit together.  Whew.

I didn't eat very well on our trip, but I logged everything into My Fitness Pal yesterday and to my utter disbelief I found out I didn't actually go over any of my daily limits with the exception of sugar.  And it's soooo easy to go over on sugar if you're not trying.  Some of my estimations might be a little off as far as how much of stuff I had, but it should be close enough to determine that if I went over, it wasn't by much.  Nice!

I'm pretty much eating anything I want now, as long as I take it slow to make sure my body's okay with it.  I still haven't had steak, and I'm staying away from pasta and doughy breads, like bagels, etc.  Although I DID have a tiny serving of my BF's mom's pineapple stuffing at Easter, and it was worth every gram of sugar & every carb.  It's insanely delicious, but made of all the worst things I could possibly eat: bread, butter, sugar (and egg & pineapple).  But absolutely NOTHING goes better with Easter ham.  It even makes me not hate Easter as much.  I have a completely irrational hatred of the holiday, and I despise having to attend family events to celebrate it.  Charles (BF) is mystified by this, and I can't even begin to explain it.  I'm complex, dammit!

Okay, I'm off to lunch (and reading all of the bloggy goodness that I've missed over the past 6 days!).

-Mon

P.S.  I'm gradually losing those pounds that I re-gained when I started eating soft/mushy foods!  Almost back down to the -28 pound mark...hopefully by Weigh-In Sunday!

  3. I do best with routine too! But I give myself a pass when we're on trips. 300+ days out of the year to be good.

  4. Routines are so important for me! Especially with this whole weightloss thing! :) One thing I have found with steak and any meat really, make sure its not dry (So tender is best) and very little fat. Fat makes the meat tougher to chew. Remember, CHEW CHEW CHEW and the CHEW some more!

  5. I understand about the routine. Losing weight is easier for me M-F when i have a routine. Weekends and being off for two weeks have killed me and i don't have structure to keep me in line. Hope to get back next thurs once I'm released by surgeon but I've been ready to go back for a week. I just can't go until surgeon says i can.
